Read on to see how a wedding venue and planning service used a simple website template to grow.
Once upon a time…
In beautiful Canal Fulton, Ohio, lies a magical place known as Storybrook Barn. It’s truly nothing short of a dream, fairytale wedding location.
(No kidding. It really is gorgeous.)
It’s been around since 2012, and it’s one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Northeast Ohio.
Take a look for yourself…
The only problem was, not many people knew about it!
You can be of the highest quality and offer tons of value, but if you’re not using certain marketing techniques, your competitors can still grab up your customers.
Storybrook Barn and its partner, Mobile Wedding (the wedding planning service), now have a website that works in the best way possible to capture leads and create sales.
(The good news is, we’ve templatized the layout of this successful website!)
You can go to MobileWedding.com to take a look.
Multiple Calls-To-Action
They started using our website template in March of 2016.
Not long after their site went live with the new design, their subscriber list started climbing rapidly from 147 cold leads, to 294 brand new hot ones!
Why?
This is partly because they utilized SEO and social media, as well as great product landing pages, and a Customer Value Optimization sales funnel…
… but there’s one aspect that some small business websites overlook…
They featured a call-to-action at the top for a free offer — to schedule a spot in a group tour, which takes place every other Sunday, every month.
This CTA is featured in not 1 but 2 spots above the fold.
In the mobile version, this second above the fold CTA is fixed in a band across the bottom of the screen, so it’s impossible to miss (most people surf the net on mobile devices!).
Read the Blog Posts
Directly below the beautiful image of the barn and the 2 CTAs, there is a “Read Our Most Popular Blog Posts” section.
This part of The Perfect Homepage Template or website template is crucial.
Here’s why:
If the visitor didn’t bite, that means they need more information.
What better way to do that than by showing your authority and knowledge, and answering any questions they might have with blog posts?
These blog posts are Search Engine Optimized (SEO) with targeted keywords.
Anyone in the area who might be searching for a wedding venue with certain criteria are much more likely to find it.
Get the Lead Magnet
Here’s another important part of the website template that often gets overlooked in other web designs…
A CTA where they can get the lead magnet!
Why is this so important?
A lead magnet is a specific and irresistible offer that your visitor can download, in exchange for their email address.
A lead magnet has to be something they’re interested in.
If they jump for it, it means this person is a hot lead.
They’re interested in what you’re doing, and you’ll need to follow up with them in the proper amount of time with the right email campaigns.
The CVO Sales Funnel
This isn’t part of the website template, but it works in conjunction with it.
Gathering all of those hot leads means nothing if you don’t plan on working with them. Thankfully, Customer Value Optimization breaks it down and makes it simple.
There’s a Lead Magnet.
In the case of Mobile Wedding, it’s the Look Book (with country wedding decoration DIY’s and photos of Storybrook Barn).
There’s a Trip Wire.
In this case, it’s the barn tour.
And the Core Offer…
… which is ultimately booking the barn as the venue for your wedding!
At the barn group tours, they offer a discount on scheduling a date if they do it during the tour.
They are also presented with TONS of value directly prior to the offer.
That’s how our website template (the same one we use for all of our web design clients) works together with the CVO model to make small businesses not-so-small.
There’s a lot more to be said about the Customer Value Optimization model, so we’ll direct you to this post so you can read up on it and how it works:

No matter which route you take in creating your business website, you’ll need to make sure your offers are positioned properly.
As you can see, the layout of your website has to lead your visitor to opt in or make a purchase.
(Two of the main goals of your business.)
