Let a fun or informative personality test advertise your business.
People will take a personality test online for just about any reason.
It’s fun to find out aspects of ourselves that we didn’t consider before, and share our quiz results with our friends.
You’ve probably seen them on Facebook.
“Which Disney Princess Are You?” And “Which Kind of Fruit Are You” are silly and fun, and people actually take time out of their day to do them.
That’s why creating a personality test that revolves around your business is a great idea.
Just think — it’s essentially an advertisement for your business.
You’ll just need to brainstorm to figure out the best way to do it. You have to keep one key thing in mind — it has to be fun or reveal important information about your prospect.
Brainstorm Personality Test Ideas
Think about what’s important to your target audience.
If you haven’t done any in-depth market research, you’ll need to do that before you can take another step.
You’ll need to know….
- What they want that you can give them.
- Where they hang out the most (Facebook? Twitter?).
- What emotions motivate them,
- What they might want to know about themselves first before they purchase from you.
- What would they be proud of (that will make them want to share their result and share the quiz)?
Find out the top ranking information for each of these bullet points.
Now you can start coming up with some ideas!
Write down a few ideas and narrow it down to the best one with the help of some outsider opinions.
How to Make a Personality Test
This is the fun part. We’ll need to use an example to help us illustrate the process.
If you don’t have a web developer on hand who knows how to create a personality test, there are several free services online where you can easily create one yourself.
Such as…
Let’s say you sell stationery. You could create a quiz around your most popular planners, and ask them which type of planner they are.
Keep the number of personality types no more than 7. After that it gets too complicated.
You also need an odd number, so there aren’t any tied results!
From there, you can pull out some personality attributes that fit each type of planner.
To come up with the questions, associate these attributes to scenarios. What would each personality type do in these scenarios?
Come up with the best answer for each one, and order them A, B, C, D, etc.
Now just repeat the question scenarios. Check out existing personality quizzes to help you come up with some really good questions. The next step is to have someone create a nice graphic for each result.
The graphics don’t have to be really fancy, but they should be something your prospects will want to show off. They also need to have your logo somewhere on them.
The written part of the results, which describe the resulting personality type in detail, should also contain a link to your website or offer, with a call to action.
“Buy this Planner Now!”
That’s it! Just make it fun, and people will take and share your quiz, and this sharing links to your business for others to find.
Bonus: Use this quiz as a lead magnet, and drive targeted Facebook ads to it!
